Funeral Program Without Religious Language

InMemoryStudio ·

A secular program can express love, gratitude, and remembrance without prayer or beliefs about an afterlife. Focus on the life and relationships that guests knew.

Example wording

We remember [Name] through the stories we share, the kindness we practice, and the love that continues among us.

Make it fit your situation

Check decorative imagery as well as text; a cross or religious heading can contradict otherwise secular wording.

Replace headings such as Prayer with Reflection when appropriate, and check the closing as well as the opening. Secular wording should describe actual relationships and memories without making spiritual promises.

Before you finish

A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
