Funeral Program Faith Statement Wording

InMemoryStudio ·

A faith statement should reflect the person's or family's actual belief. Keep it personal rather than presenting an assumed belief as something shared by everyone attending.

Example wording

[Name]'s faith was a source of strength, expressed in [Practice] and in care for [People or Community].

Make it fit your situation

Ask the family or service leader to review wording that refers to doctrine or a particular religious tradition.

A neutral companion sentence is: We honor the beliefs that guided [Name]'s life. It acknowledges a personal faith without instructing all guests to adopt it or assuming a uniform audience.

Before you finish

A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
