Applying booklet imposition to a file already arranged as spreads can shrink or reorder the panels. A preview containing several tiny booklets is a warning sign.
Use the prepared print sheet directly
Begin with ordinary two-sided printing for the supplied spread file. Do not add multiple-pages-per-sheet or booklet arrangement unless the file's format and printer workflow specifically require it. Compare the preview with the file's actual pages.
Final check
A one-sheet folded proof should have four readable panels, not repeated miniature pages.
