A4 and US Letter differ in dimensions. Scaling a Letter booklet onto A4 changes the finished size and may create different borders.
Choose the workflow deliberately
Use US Letter paper when the file is prepared for Letter. If A4 is the only option, inspect the scaled proof and accept that the result is not the original 5.5 by 8.5-inch fold. Ask a printer before ordering matching covers or packaging.
Final check
Measure a folded test rather than describing a scaled A4 print as a standard US Letter booklet.
