Checking a 5 by 7 Memorial Card Image

InMemoryStudio ·

A card is viewed close up, so facial detail and text edges matter. The image's required size depends on whether it fills the card or a smaller frame.

Practical check

A full 5 by 7 image at 300 ppi corresponds to 1500 by 2100 pixels. A smaller portrait frame needs fewer pixels proportionally.

Make it fit your situation

Use this as arithmetic guidance, not a guarantee that a poorly focused photograph will print sharply.

A portrait occupying half the card does not need a full-page image's pixel dimensions. However, weak focus, heavy compression, or an old screenshot may still limit quality regardless of pixel count.

Before you finish

Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
