Removing Glare When Photographing an Old Portrait
InMemoryStudio ·
Glare hides details that editing may not recover. Change the light and camera angle before trying to correct the file digitally.
Practical check
Place the print in soft indirect light, keep the camera parallel to it, and take several photographs with reflections moved away from the face.
Make it fit your situation
Do not promise that a filter can recover a face hidden under a bright reflection.
Remove a photograph from a reflective frame only if doing so is safe for the original. If it is fragile or stuck to glass, avoid forcing it; seek a suitable scanning or reproduction approach.
Before you finish
Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
