Ordering a full paper supply before a test can lock you into stock your printer cannot handle. The layout should be proven on suitable paper first.
Test format and feed separately
Use an ordinary sheet to establish orientation and scale, then test a small quantity of compatible cardstock. Compare portrait tone and folding or cutting behavior before purchasing more.
Final check
Check the printer's stock limits rather than choosing paper only by how substantial it feels.
