Funeral Program Reading Introductions
InMemoryStudio ·
A brief introduction tells guests why a reading matters. It should frame the selection without repeating the passage or claiming the deceased chose it unless that is known.
Example wording
[Reading Title], read by [Reader]. Selected by the family for its gentle reminder of enduring love.
Make it fit your situation
Keep the full passage on another page only when it fits and you have permission to reproduce it.
A more personal introduction is: This reading reminded our family of [Quality or Memory]. That connection is stronger than a broad statement that the passage perfectly describes every part of a life.
Before you finish
A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
