Funeral Program Name Pronunciation Notes

InMemoryStudio ·

A discreet pronunciation note helps speakers say an unfamiliar name confidently. It need not dominate a cover or replace the person's actual spelling.

Example wording

For readers and speakers: [Name] is pronounced [Family-approved guide]. Please use [Preferred Name] during the service.

Make it fit your situation

Ask the family to approve the guide aloud; spelling alone can produce the wrong pronunciation.

The note may be useful only in the service leader's copy. If guests do not need it, keep the public program uncluttered and send a separate pronunciation guide to speakers.

Before you finish

A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
