Fixing a Blurry Portrait on a Large Poster

InMemoryStudio ·

A photograph that looks clear on a phone may not contain enough pixels for a large print. The face area matters more than the dimensions of the whole group photograph.

Practical check

Check the cropped portrait's pixel dimensions and make a print proof at a meaningful size before ordering the full poster.

Make it fit your situation

Upscaling cannot reliably reconstruct missing identity details; a smaller poster may be a better choice.

Inspect the portrait after cropping, not before. A large original group image can leave only a small face area, and its overall file size may overstate the detail available for the poster.

Before you finish

Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
