Checking Pixels for an 18 by 24 Poster
InMemoryStudio ·
An 18 by 24 poster has a 3:4 shape, which differs from the 2:3 proportions of the other listed poster sizes. Check the crop independently.
Practical check
At 150 ppi, 18 by 24 inches corresponds to 2700 by 3600 pixels. At 300 ppi, it corresponds to 5400 by 7200.
Make it fit your situation
Ask the printer what resolution is suitable for the display distance; 300 ppi is not a universal minimum for all posters.
A change from 12 by 18 to 18 by 24 is not a proportional enlargement. The 3:4 layout can trim or reveal different image areas, so review facial position and all text again.
Before you finish
Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
