Obituary Wording for Education

InMemoryStudio ·

Education details work best when they explain a meaningful interest or relationship. A long institutional list can crowd out the personal story.

Example passage

[Name] studied [Subject] at [Institution], where their interest in [Detail] and friendship with [Approved Name or Group] began.

Make it fit your situation

Verify school names and completion dates; attendance is not the same as earning a degree.

Education can be omitted when it is not meaningful to the family's account. A genuine interest and a verified experience can be more useful than an incomplete list of schools.

Before you finish

An obituary can be accurate and affectionate without listing every event in a life. Confirm names and practical details with an appropriate family contact. Keep private information out unless the people involved have agreed to its publication.
