Memorial Poster Photo Resolution at 150 Versus 300 PPI

InMemoryStudio ·

Pixel needs depend on print size and the provider's requirements. A 300 PPI target needs twice as many pixels along each edge as 150 PPI, not just a slightly larger file.

Calculate from the actual print dimensions

Multiply width and height in inches by the target PPI. An 18 by 24-inch image area at 150 PPI corresponds to 2700 by 3600 pixels. Ask the printer what quality it accepts for the intended viewing distance.

Final check

Use the photograph's actual occupied area, not automatically the full poster dimensions, in your calculation.
