Choose the size around the content
A memorial card usually has a portrait, name, and life dates on the front, with a tribute, prayer, or service details on the back. The best size is the one that lets that content stay legible. Choosing a smaller card and then shrinking every line of text rarely produces a good result.
How the three sizes differ
The same two-sided design can be prepared in the following available sizes. Consider how guests will hold or keep the finished card.
- 5 × 7 inches: the most room for a portrait and a longer message. A good choice when readability matters more than pocket size.
- 2.5 × 3.5 inches: compact enough for a wallet or small keepsake. Best for a short message and clear, uncluttered front.
- 2.5 × 4.25 inches: still narrow, but with a little more vertical room for a verse or additional line of text.
Check both sides before printing
Preview the front and back at the actual chosen size. Look for a clear face in the portrait, comfortable contrast, and enough space around names and dates. If the back feels crowded, shorten the wording or select the larger size rather than forcing the text smaller.
When printing two-sided cards at home, make one front-and-back test sheet before cutting. Paper feed and duplex alignment differ by printer, and a test lets you catch a reversed or offset back side.
Frequently asked questions
Which size gives the most room for text?
The 5 × 7-inch card gives more space for a portrait and a longer message than either compact size.
Can I choose several sizes?
Yes. The card flow lets you select any of the available sizes before downloading.
Will the same wording fit every size?
Not always. Review each selected version; shorten a crowded message rather than forcing it into very small type.
