Funeral Program Welcome Message Examples

InMemoryStudio ·

A welcome addresses the people attending, rather than trying to summarize an entire life. Keep it separate from the biography so guests can understand the purpose of the gathering immediately.

Example wording

Thank you for joining us to remember [Name]. Today we make room for sorrow, gratitude, and the stories that connect us.

Make it fit your situation

Use one short paragraph above the service outline; move reception directions to a separate block.

Another option: We are grateful to share this time with you. Your presence is part of the care surrounding our family as we remember [Name]. A welcome should sound like an invitation, not a performance.

Before you finish

A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
