Music credits can identify a song without reproducing lyrics. Distinguish a live performance from a recorded selection and verify the title supplied by the musician.
Example wording
Musical selection: [Song Title], performed by [Performer]. A favorite song chosen in remembrance of [Name].
Make it fit your situation
Do not label a recording as a live performance or paste a full song lyric into the program.
For a recorded selection, write: [Song Title], recorded by [Artist]. For live music, name the actual performer. These labels help preserve an accurate record of the gathering for later readers.
Before you finish
A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
