A pallbearer list is an acknowledgment of a particular role, not a family ranking. Separate active participants from honorary names when the organizer uses both categories.
Example wording
Pallbearers: [Name], [Name], [Name]. Honorary pallbearers: [Name], [Name]. With gratitude for your care and support.
Make it fit your situation
Confirm spelling and participation with the organizer; do not assume every listed person has agreed.
Alphabetical order can keep a list neutral when the organizer has no preferred sequence. Do not add honorary names simply to fill the page; each label should describe an agreed role.
Before you finish
A printed program has limited space. Give this message its own short block so it can be read without interrupting the order of service. Read the final version aloud before fitting it into the design.
