Funeral Program Name on Two Lines: Where to Break It

InMemoryStudio ·

Break a long name at a natural boundary, usually between given names and the surname. A balanced line break is better than making one part much smaller.

Preserve the name's structure

Try [First Middle] on the first line and [Last Name] on the second. Keep compound surnames together when possible. Place a nickname in a separate short line only if the family wants it displayed.

Final check

Check that the name remains correct when read aloud across both lines; appearance must not change its meaning.
