Funeral Program Biography Written in First Person or Third Person

InMemoryStudio ·

Third person works naturally for a shared family biography. First person is more suitable for a clearly signed personal tribute. Mixing both without a transition can confuse the reader.

Identify who is speaking

Use [Name] and they or the person's pronouns in the biography. Introduce a personal passage as A remembrance from [Relationship] before switching to I. Do not present one relative's feelings as everyone's agreed experience.

Final check

Read each paragraph's opening and check that the speaker is clear throughout the page.
