Use the person's recognized name and pronouns consistently in the program. An editorial template should not override how the family wishes the person to be remembered.
Proof pronouns alongside names
Check the cover, biography, photo captions, and closing messages as separate areas. Rewrite ambiguous sentences when several people share a paragraph. If family members disagree, obtain a clear approved version before printing.
Final check
Search the final working text for each pronoun and read its sentence rather than relying on spellcheck.
