Fixing a Stretched Portrait in a Memorial Design

InMemoryStudio ·

A stretched face means the image has been resized without preserving its proportions. Cropping and distortion are different operations.

Practical check

Restore the image's aspect ratio, then crop excess background to fit the frame rather than changing the face's width.

Make it fit your situation

If the current frame does not fit the photograph, choose another available layout instead of forcing the image.

Face proportions are especially noticeable in oval frames. Compare the edited crop with the original image before approval; an attractive fit should not change the person's recognizable appearance.

Before you finish

Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
