Checking PDF Page Size Before Sending to Print

InMemoryStudio ·

A filename does not establish a file's dimensions. The PDF's actual page size should match the ordered product and the printer's instructions.

Practical check

Open document properties or the print dialog, inspect the page dimensions, and compare them with the selected card or poster size.

Make it fit your situation

Do not stretch a letter-sized file into a poster merely by changing the printer's paper choice.

Write dimensions in the job note alongside the file name. A shop should know whether a 5 by 7 file is intended as one card, multiple cards on a sheet, or part of another layout.

Before you finish

Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
