A proof inspected beside a bright screen may look clearer than the booklet in the actual venue. Low light can reveal text and contrast problems.
Test the physical booklet
Read a folded copy in lighting similar to the expected setting. Look at pale date lines, small credits, and text over images. Increase contrast or simplify the design when necessary rather than judging readability only on a bright display.
Final check
Have another person read the smallest meaningful text without leaning unusually close.
