Avoiding Double Booklet Imposition

InMemoryStudio ·

A file already arranged for folding should not be imposed a second time. A reading-order PDF and an imposed sheet require different print handling.

Practical check

Inspect whether the PDF shows individual pages or two panels per sheet. Use booklet mode only when the file's structure calls for it.

Make it fit your situation

Fold a single test sheet and read all four panels before choosing settings for the batch.

A four-page reading-order PDF and a two-page imposed spread are not the same structure. Examine thumbnails and panel order first; booklet software should not reorder a spread that is already ready to fold.

Before you finish

Use the final exported file for a test print before ordering the full quantity. Printer settings, paper, and trimming can change the result. Ask the print provider about its requirements rather than assuming that every machine behaves the same way.
