Original Four-Line Memorial Card Verses

InMemoryStudio ·

A four-line verse should have a clear emotional progression: memory, absence, connection, and what remains. Plain language is easier to read on a small keepsake.

Example wording

A familiar voice, a gentle smile.
The moments stay with us awhile.
Though days ahead will feel quite new,
We carry love and think of you.

Make it fit your situation

This is original sample wording; change any line that does not match the family's tone.

Another original verse: We keep a place for stories told. / For quiet care and hands to hold. / In ordinary days we find / The love and lessons left behind. Omit any line that does not feel true.

Before you finish

A memorial card may be kept long after the service. Choose words that still make sense without an event date or spoken introduction. Short, readable text is more useful than squeezing several messages into a small design.
