Obituary Opening Without Peacefully

InMemoryStudio ·

Peacefully is not a required obituary word and should not be used when it feels inaccurate. A direct opening can be equally respectful.

Example passage

[Full Name] passed away on [Date]. Their family remembers a life shaped by [Value] and [Personal Detail].

Make it fit your situation

Avoid adding surrounding circumstances merely to make the opening sound conventional.

Other direct verbs include died and is remembered following their passing. Choose the language the family can say honestly. A conventional phrase should never take priority over the actual circumstances.

Before you finish

An obituary can be accurate and affectionate without listing every event in a life. Confirm names and practical details with an appropriate family contact. Keep private information out unless the people involved have agreed to its publication.
