Memorial Card Wording With a Favorite Saying

InMemoryStudio ·

A saying is personal when the loved one actually used it. Introduce it as their remembered phrase rather than automatically attributing it as an original quotation.

Example wording

We remember [Name] saying, [Family's remembered phrase]. Today those words bring us close to a familiar voice.

Make it fit your situation

Verify the phrase with someone who heard it; do not invent a quotation to make the card feel authentic.

If the saying was not original to the person, describe it as a phrase they often used. This preserves the personal association without falsely claiming authorship or giving an invented quotation a famous attribution.

Before you finish

A memorial card may be kept long after the service. Choose words that still make sense without an event date or spoken introduction. Short, readable text is more useful than squeezing several messages into a small design.
