Dates are optional in a personal keepsake. A name, portrait, and meaningful line can identify the person while keeping private information out of circulation.

Make it fit your situation
Remove the unused date field completely rather than leaving a blank dash that looks unfinished.
A dates-free card can still include an event date if it functions as a gathering announcement. Label that date explicitly so it is not mistaken for the person's date of birth or passing.
Before you finish
A memorial card may be kept long after the service. Choose words that still make sense without an event date or spoken introduction. Short, readable text is more useful than squeezing several messages into a small design.
