Memorial Card With a Personal Promise

InMemoryStudio ·

A promise is most meaningful when it is realistic and within the speaker's control. Avoid language that pressures every relative to commit to the same action.

Example wording

We will keep telling your stories and practicing the kindness you showed us.

Make it fit your situation

Use an individual signature if the promise belongs to one person rather than the whole family.

Alternative: I will keep your stories close and make time for the people you loved. Use I when the promise is personal. A family-wide pledge should be agreed rather than inserted automatically.

Before you finish

A memorial card may be kept long after the service. Choose words that still make sense without an event date or spoken introduction. Short, readable text is more useful than squeezing several messages into a small design.
