An individual message can use I and you without claiming to speak for everyone. It may feel more honest than a formal collective tribute.
Example wording
I will miss our ordinary conversations most of all. Thank you for the patience, laughter, and care you gave me.
Make it fit your situation
Sign with the writer's preferred name if the card is being shared beyond close family.
Alternative: I am grateful for the time we shared, and I will miss you deeply. An individual message does not have to resolve every feeling or describe every part of the relationship.
Before you finish
A memorial card may be kept long after the service. Choose words that still make sense without an event date or spoken introduction. Short, readable text is more useful than squeezing several messages into a small design.
