Making a Memorial Poster From a Card Design

InMemoryStudio ·

A poster needs more than enlarging a card. Use the shared image and tone, but reduce text and check the portrait at the larger size.

A workable approach

Keep the portrait, name, and one remembrance line. Leave detailed prayers or biographies on the card or program.

Make it fit your situation

Use a supported poster export rather than scaling a small card screenshot.

Poster preparation also requires checking the portrait's resolution. A file suitable for a hand-held card may not provide enough cropped detail for a large easel print, even when the message is short.

Before you finish

Make the decision before editing the final design, then record it where the family can find it. A clear owner and a saved final version reduce last-minute confusion. Keep the working notes separate from the tribute guests will read.
